Aeroponics is considered the most modern and promising farming technique of the future for the terrestrial and space plants growth, with minimal environmental footprint.

The term Aeroponic (derived from the Greek language, that is, from the Greek terms aeras (air) and ponos (pain, work, labor).

Plants are grown in specific trays or pots with the assistance of artificial support instead of soil or substrate. The roots are suspended in the air inside the growth chambers under complete darkness and intermittently pulse-misted with a fine spray of nutrients and moisture.

The intensive nutrient uptake and oxygenation of the root system (the roots grow stronger and faster) optimizes the root metabolism and the absorption of essential nutrients, thereby maximizing plant growth rates. Aeroponics allows artificial elevation of root zone O2 to enhance yield.
