The roots are suspended in the air inside the growth chambers under complete darkness and intermittently pulse-misted with a fine spray of nutrients and moisture<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The intensive nutrient uptake and oxygenation of the root system (the roots grow stronger and faster) optimizes the root metabolism and the absorption of essential nutrients, thereby maximizing plant growth rates.
